POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

  • Prior to participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
  • The SCGA's mask policy follows in accordance with the CDC and the California Department of Public Health. This is subject to change due to any local guidelines or site protocols. Click here to learn more.

 

FORMAT:

  • All teams will participate in a 36-holes four-ball stroke play championship (two-person better ball). 18 holes will be played each day.
  • All teams will play both courses during the championship. The field will be divided into a gross and net division (as selected at the time of registration).
  • The gross division will compete without handicaps.
  • The net division will be divided into three flights based on the combined team Handicap Indexes. Players will use their Handicap Index as of the close date, Sunday, May 1.
  • All women in the net division will play to 85% of their Course Handicap.
  • Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place in each flight. All ties in all flights will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at a discounted rate of $100 (including cart and range balls) after 11:00, or on a space-available basis, from May 1 through May 10.
  • Call the golf shop at (760) 324-7336 3 days in advance and identify yourself as a participant in the SCGA Women’s Four-Ball Championship.

REGISTRATION:

All participants must check-in at the SCGA registration table upon arrival on Wednesday morning located at the SCGA Tents near the practice putting green.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting holes and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
  • Shotgun start beginning at 7:30 a.m. (Both Days) Groups will be re-paired for Round 2 according to Round 1 scores.
  • Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.

DRIVING RANGE:

The driving range will open by 6:30 a.m. on each day of the championship. Range balls will be provided at no additional charge.

 

FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:

  • The snack bar and beverage carts are open for food and beverage purchases. Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.
  • The SCGA will host a luncheon during the award ceremony for all participants on Thursday, after Round 2.      Lunch will not be served after Round 1 on Wednesday; players will be on their own.

RULES OF PLAY:

 

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are included in each team’s entry fee.
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see the section on Golf Carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the club.
  • Caddies and spectators must wear face coverings whenever it is not possible to guarantee six feet of distance from another person.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
